Patagonia Time!

Patagonia (1)

We start our trip to southern Patagonia tomorrow morning.  A trip to Patagonia has long been a dream for Jeremy, Matt and I since we first visited South America 7 or 8 years ago.  This last summer while putting together our point-to-point running adventure in the Italian Dolomites, we finally committed to putting the trip on the calendar.  Our trip in the Dolomites was an absolute blast and was a real catalyst for what we have put together for Patagonia.

“Opening The Route”- Italian Dolomites

Not only was the trip in the Dolomites a great success running 90 some miles over 5 days while staying in refugios each night, we were able to share our adventure with the trail running world through an article on Irunfar.com:

-Found here along with  making a short video covering the journey found here:

With the success of our trip as a starting point, we have been able to create momentum for our follow on journey and adventure in Southern Patagonia.

FKT Attempt on the Circuito Torres Del Paine, Patagonia-

Our main focus and objective on our 2 week trip to Patagonia will be to explore, run and attempt to set an FKT on the infamous 120ish kilometer Circuito Torres Del Paine, also known as the “O” and “W”.  Currently the FKT for the O and W combination is 17:38 and held by Canuto, a North Face adventure racer.  Here is his account and short video on his FKT.

The Small Mountain Town of El Chalten

In addition to running and exploring Torres Del Pain National Park, we plan on visiting and running around the lakes, glaciers and mountains (the famous Fitz Roy Peak is near El Chalten) around the small town of El Chalten.

Joel Wolpert-

We are fortunate enough to be joined on this trip by Joel Wolpert, creator of In the High Country with Anton Krupicka.  Joel will be capturing our journey and story on video and through still photography.  We picked Joel not only for his amazing talents with the camera, but because he is also an amazing mountain trail runner and has the ability to join us on our running adventures.
